A combination of covid lockdowns and an achilles injury was not a good combination for my physical or mental health last year, however since joining The Set in October 2020, it’s been a full 180. 

It’s where I found motivation again and continued to find it. My prior training experience consisted of solo gym sessions that had no structure or consistency that I was clearly not making any progress with. The Set fixed these issues for me instantly. Under Tammy’s guidance, my technique and strength of all my lifts consistently improve. Outside of the gym, Tammy has also helped me improve my diet to achieve my weight goals. Last month, I competed in a jiu jitsu competition at 76kg, which is 13kg less than when I started 8 months ago. What I find crazy is that I’m a lot stronger now despite being lighter! What I most enjoy about training here is seeing the progression I’ve made and all the support I’ve received.

For someone who's thinking about joining The Set, I would strongly recommend it. Regardless of your goals, fitness or strength levels, the workouts are always modified to be challenging for everyone, however they are always enjoyable.

When someone asks you "why did you join The Set?" they always expect an answer related to weight loss or their journey to a healthier diet. But for me that was not the case.

I joined The Set because I needed a "restart" in life. I needed motivation and the will to fight to be better mentally. Each class teaches you a variety of exercises to activate different muscle groups, but for me it taught me how to teach my brain to view each challenge with determination, rather than seeing it as a struggle.

The Set changed my mental health. Being part of this unique, small family, it gives you the strength to get out of bed every morning even though you want that extra 5 minute snooze. The weightloss which came afterwards was simply a bonus to this experience. The Set helped change the way I think, feel and see myself when I look in a mirror. If you want to press that restart button and just start fresh on a clean slate, then come and join us. The only thing you will regret is not starting this journey sooner!

I joined The Set following surgery I had mid this year, 2021. Joining The Set I was only intending to do their May 4 Week Challenge 2021, but after I finished I already noticed so many changes within myself physically and mentally.

I did MMA prior to joining The Set. So far I have already achieved more passion and dedication to my own health. Not only does The Set make every class enjoyable, challenging and fun, but I learn and get something out of every class. I’m always open to learning new things, so The Set really is a great gym for that!

Besides being able to lift weights and beat personal records, Tammy and every other person part of the team are super friendly, motivating and passionate about what they do. Personally, that really encourages me and inspires me to do my utmost best day by day.

To anyone that needs a reset or kickstart to their fitness journey, The Set is the perfect environment to learn new skills, friends and experiences. I needed to get myself back into shape after 3 babies. No excuses now because they are 12, 9 and 7! I also wanted to become more confident in myself. 

I’ve been a member of a few gyms over the years and I also have a passion for swimming. I signed up for the July Jumpstart Challenge 2021 to gain more strength and fitness. I’ve achieved a whole lot more - a supportive environment and a mind & body overhaul. Tammy is excellent, always encouraging and focusing on the individual and their goals, within a group environment. 

Such an awesome place to train! I love this gym. There’s a strong sense of community. Thank you for creating such a genuine and inspirational training environment!

I started training at The Set about 8 months ago. Tammy is an encouraging and supportive trainer who is always there to give you the little extra push (that you sometimes need at 6am).

The community and atmosphere she has created in the gym has allowed me to make massive lifestyle changes and stick to them.

I joined The Set to get the support of group training. I had attempted to do my own workouts at the Gym, but just didn't feel motivated.

I am in a sedentary job, and have neglected my physical health, and as I am getting older, wanted to ensure I remain physically healthy, hence the need to get involved in working out.

I have reduced fat and overall weight and increased my lean muscle mass, feeling stronger and more energy.

The energy level and welcoming of the Gym is great, and very inclusive. If you have difficulty working out on your own, lack motivation, but are ready for some fun hard work to achieve the results you want, join us here, this will be the best chance you have for your future health.

After years of reformer Pilates I wanted to try something different. I love being able to combine weight training with my running, its really helped with my running, and I even managed to run a half marathon this year without any injury! Tammy is fantastic, so dedicated and really focuses on demonstration and technique for all ranges of fitness.

I joined The Set not really knowing what to expect. I'd been going to another gym by myself on and off for years and was never getting results and never had the confidence to try various exercises.

From the get go the community Tammy has built was so welcoming and helpful. I’ve learnt proper lifting techniques and have been able to consistently improve in my strength and conditioning. It’s added bonus to enjoy going to the gym and getting along with the people around you.

I’m pretty certain when I hit the gym by myself I’m wasting my time but I’ve never been interested in the one on one scrutiny of a personal trainer or the cost.
